Capable of producing peak SPL of over 120dB per pair, and with a low frequency response extending down to 35Hz, the 8050A is a powerful wideband bi-amplified monitoring system. It is an excellent tool for large recording studios, broadcast and surround installations, mastering suites and TV and post-production houses. Color Black. The sophisticated low level active crossover has versatile controls for matching the monitor to difficult acoustic environments. Dedicated very low distortion amplifiers power the drivers, with overload protection for each driver. The stiff, volume efficient MDE™ (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure™) enclosure and long, curved, flow optimized reflex port combined with low distortion drivers provide solid, clear, low frequencies with a minimum of compression, distortion and port noise artefacts. The gently curved sided and front MDE™ enclosure and advanced Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide™ (DCW™) provide exceptionally smooth on and off axis frequency responses, precise imaging and optimal directivity across the whole audio spectrum. Mounting of the 8050A is easy using the included Iso-Pod™(Isolation Positioner/Decoupler™) which eliminates coloration of the sound by decoupling the monitor from its mounting surface. The monitor can be tilted on the Iso-Pod™ to point the acoustic axis directly at the listening position. Other mounting options are possible using the integrated mounting point on the rear of the enclosure, or the M10 threaded hole on its base. Price Per Unit
Boasting performance comparable to much larger systems, but in a compact package, the bi-amplified 8040A is ideal for use in many situations where a wide frequency response is needed but space is limited. Uses include nearfield monitoring, project/home studios, workstations, broadcast and TV control rooms and mobile production vehicles. Color Black. The ingenious, flow optimized, reflex port achieves clear deep bass articulation with no compression or port noises. Combined with the advanced Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide™ (DCW™) and the rounded edges and gently curved front and sides of the MDE™ (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure™) enclosure, the result is an astoundingly wide, flat frequency response both on and off axis. Other benefits include superb imaging qualities and less listening fatigue. Carefully designed crossover filters with steep roll-off feed dedicated amplifiers for each of the low distortion drivers. The 8040A includes magnetic shielding, overload protection circuitry and versatile room response controls as standard. Each 8040A comes with an Iso-Pod™ (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler™) which eliminates coloration of the sound by decoupling the monitor from its mounting surface. The Iso-Pod™ also allows the speaker to be angled so that its acoustic axis points directly at the listener. For ideal mounting in differing environments, the 8040A includes integrated rear support points for floor and wall stands, with an additional M10 threaded mounting hole on the enclosure base.
