The ZEN CAN Signature 6XX analogue headphone amplifier takes sonic tailoring to the next level with ActivEQ. ActivEQ This new feature, called ActivEQ, combines active and passive components to create a specific EQ curve to suit a particular pair of headphones, performed in the analogue domain without a hint of additional noise or distortion. The ZEN CAN Signature 6XX, features ActivEQ for the ‘MassDrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX’ – a popular pair of high-quality headphones with more than 120,000 sold to date, based on the Sennheiser HD 650 and created exclusively for Drop.com. Activated. GND control. Take out speaker hum. Ground control to Major components. The optimum configuration for each system is one Ground/Earth for the whole system. If a system has multiple Grounds/Earths, then it often creates unwanted ground loops. These systems will then have an annoying low-frequency hum (emitted from the speakers). Current solutions either jeopardise (i) both safety and EMI shielding (e.g. cheater plug), or (ii) EMI shielding. And most are single country (US) uses only. The GND Defender in the correct way, intelligently detects a ground loop and will cut the ground for that component. AI ground detection. With a GND Defender at the IEC power input, it will intelligently detect and remove the ground loop at the component. The amplifier is the heart of your system. If you have a mechanical hum, deploy the DC Blocker. Got big amplifier. Bye bye mechanical hum. Many large amplifiers have a really annoying mechanical hum (emitted from the toroidal transformer itself). You can hear it when you place your ear close or next to the chassis. This is caused by a small amount of DC voltage in the mains which makes its way through to the mains transformer, it will become ‘saturated’ and start to hum like a trooper. The DC Blocker is a clever device that you place at the IEC (at the rear power inlet) and as its name implies, it stops DC from getting into the amplifier. It therefore eliminates amplifier transformer hum. Cute. Clever. All the benefits of cutting out annoying hum with no drawbacks. Intelligently stops any DC voltage from the mains to eliminate transformer hum EMI shielding is retained Equipment safety is unaffected Behind every good component is a DC Blocker. The bigger the amplifier, usually, the larger the toroidal which is susceptible to residual DC voltage.
