NAD C 538 Black

NAD C 538 Black

NAD has an enviable reputation for creating great sounding products at very affordable prices and nowhere is this more evident than in NAD’s CD Players. NAD’s veteran engineers know exactly where to spend just a little extra money for a better quality part, in order to extract the very best sound from the Compact Disc. CD Players use mechanical, digital, and analog technology to produce sound, and all three forms of engineering greatly affect the end result and require careful design and engineering.A solid mechanical foundation is paramount in reducing external vibration and providing precise location of the CD drive mechanism. This allows smooth operation and a minimum of tracking errors. Heavy gauge steel and non-resonant plastic moldings are carefully engineered to provide optimum results. The transport is mounted on reinforced steel rails and over 30 fasteners are used to lock the assembly together and maintain precise dimensional integrity.Precise clocking of the digital data stream allows the Wolfson 24 bit DAC to provide accurate linearity for the PCM data conversion to analog waveform. Audio OP Amps buffer the output without adding noise or distortion to the music. Multi-layer PCBs using surface mount components allow for an enhanced circuit layout with very short signal paths. Powering these elements is a custom designed active power supply that provides multiple regulated voltages to the transport, digital circuits, analog circuits, and the control and display circuits. The result of this careful engineering is a sound that is at once both detailed and natural, with dramatic dynamic contrasts. The NAD C 538 includes many desirable features that enhance listening pleasure. Front panel controls are duplicated on the hand held remote allowing Play, Pause, Skip, and Scan functions. In addition, many more features are available from the remote handset, such as RANDOM: Tracks/files are played at random mode, PROGRAM: Enter or exit program mode, REPEAT: Track, file, folder or whole disc is repeated, RPT A-B: Playback sequence is repeated. The dimmable dot matrix display shows tracks, total playing time. Track time, disc time, and remaining time are all available. The C 538 also can play CD-R/CD-RW discs allowing you to burn songs from your computer for playback on your CD Playing system.Because these songs are encoded in MP3 or WMA format, you can fit up to 10 hours of music on a single disc which is great for party mixes and ambient listening. There are also both optical and coaxial digital outputs that allow connection to an external DAC or digital component (like an AVR) to provide the most efficient and best sounding system setups.Although music downloads and streaming continue to grow in popularity, CDs are still the primary listening source for millions of people around the world. NAD continues to innovate and improve its CD Players to get improved performance while keeping prices low. Whether you are creating your first home system, or upgrading your current CD Player, you should consider NAD’s 45 year record of excellence, and its commitment to music lovers everywhere, when selecting a new player.

The NAD T 758 V3i is controlled by the deliberately reduced controls on the front or the supplied IR remote control. Thanks to the unique NAD PowerDriveTM system, the seven integrated power amplifiers deliver a high sound level and the full dynamics of the music or movie soundtracks even at full load. The latest version T 758 V3i also supports Apple AirPlay 2.MDC - Future-proof modular systemMDC, the abbreviation for Modular Design Construction, is NAD's measure against hi-fi systems that are outdated too quickly. In particular, technologies for A/V devices have been developing faster and faster in recent decades. Therefore, home cinema fans who want to use new file formats, high-speed HDMI connections with higher bandwidth or additional treble channels for surround playback as with Dolby Atmos® are forced to regularly replace their A/V receiver or amplifier. NAD's MDC principle is to integrate all age-sensitive technologies on a high-quality plug-in card that can be quickly and easily exchanged for a newer version by a qualified technician. In addition, the MDC modules enable an individual assembly of the corresponding NAD amplifiers.Numerous sound formatsPopular surround sound formats, including the HD formats Dolby Atmos®, DTS:X and DTS Master Audio, the T 758 V3i decodes with the latest generation of high-speed multicore DSPs. For this purpose, the receiver supports high-resolution audio formats such as Master Quality Authenticated (MQA), which are included in the BluOSTM system.Excellent video qualityThe T 758 V3i supports state-of-the-art digital video technologies including UltraHD video with resolutions of up to 3840 x 2160 pixels at 60 frames per second with 4:4:4 color space. Analog video sources are also converted to HDMI to easily connect them to your flat screen or projector with a cable. Video processing then takes place in your TV so that unnecessary format conversions do not have to be made, as is the case with many other A/V receivers.Simple operationWe have developed a very simple user interface for our receivers that is incredibly flexible and yet easy to use. Each source component retains the same custom settings with each selection for the display. In addition, five individually programmable AV presets allow custom settings for different types of program material (feature films, concerts, classical music, etc.) that adjust the performance to your taste. The inputs can be named according to your Kopmponenten. If necessary, the receiver can sound a second independent hearing zone - the internal surround channel amplifiers are used for this.Dirac Live® - Software for correcting room acoustics and impulse reproductionDirac Live® is an innovative room correction whose basic function is to measure an audio system on the acoustics of the listening room. But in addition to adjusting certain frequencies, Dirac Live® uses the most advanced algorithms to also analyze the impulse behavior of the audio signals played. In this way, possible deviations between the pulses contained in the original signal and their reproduction are corrected, so that the hi-fi system sounds more balanced, natural and spatial. While the NAD M17.2 has the full version of Dirac Live® on board, the other devices with this feature have the Light version, which only processes the particularly problematic low frequencies up to 500 Hz. An upgrade to the full version is possible at any time. More information about Dirac Live can be found here.Apple AirPlay 2The T758 V3i can be integrated into an Apple network via AirPlay 2 and then selected directly as a playback device for your music stream via your Mac, iPhone or iPad. And if you have activated Siri voice control on your Apple device, a "Hey Siri, play the current Paul McCartney album" or "Hey Siri, play NDR 2" is enough and your NAD HiFi system will start playback immediately.BluOSTM - Multi-room streaming in HD qualityBluOSTM is an innovative, wireless system that can be used to stream music throughout the house. The corresponding user interface is one of the few solutions in the world for streaming uncompressed high-resolution 24 bit / 192 kHz music data to the players integrated into the network. BluOSTM uses only the local network for the transmission of music and the organization of the platform - and is controlled with the BluOSTM app available for smartphones and tablets or a Windows or Mac computer. Since BluOSTM is multi-room capable, up to 64 zones can be integrated and controlled either synchronously with an audio stream or individually with different programs at different volumes. Bluesound understands numerous file formats from MP3 to MQA Studio Master quality. Whether streaming music services, your own music library on a hard drive or Internet radio - with BluOSTM you always have access to your favorite music throughout the network.By the way, BluOSTM can also be integrated into some innovative home automation systems, so that in addition to the intelligent control of lighting, heating and other building technology, it is also possible to operate a BluOSTM multi-room system via the smart home panel. The driver software for the systems of the manufacturers Control4, Creston, ELAN, iPort, Lutron, Push, RTI and URC are available for download at the top of the sub-navigation under the "Smarthome Integration" tab.MQA - Music in studio master qualityMQA is not a new file format, but an innovative way to package large music files with complex coding, efficient compression technology and digital signature in such a way that even original studio master recordings in 24 bit/ 192 kHz format can be packaged in comparatively small data packages and made available online. The music data is packed in any container such as ALAC, FLAC or WAV. NAD C 556

NAD C 556

NAD C 556 Transcription Turntable/Cartridge ComboVinyl Rules! Many of the world’s most ardent music lovers believe that the 33 1/3 RPM Long Playing vinyl record remains the most musically communicative playback medium. NAD has a long history of producing some of the best value-for-money turntables and phono stages. The PP 2i is a legendary budget phono preamp, while the PP 3i takes the superb performance of the PP 2i and adds a simple way to convert your LPs into CDs using your computer and the internet to automate the ‘CD mastering’ process. While vinyl LPs can be a reference quality source of musical enjoyment, they can also sound terrible if the turntable is less than reference quality. Unlike digital sources with their foolproof error correction circuits, the turntable is like a live performance with no room for error. The same piece of vinyl can sound lush, vibrant and spacious on one turntable, but edgy, lifeless and riddled with ticks and pops on another. The difference is the mechanical precision of every aspect of the turntable. Why Does It Sound So Good? When it comes to the C 556, NAD has spent lavishly on the parts of the turntable that define its performance, and has left off the features that do nothing to improve the sound. The result is a turntable that easily outperforms others at twice the modest asking price of the C 556. The secret to a good sounding turntable is to make a rock solid mechanical connection between the platter and the pickup stylus.Any play or vibration will either add resonant colouration (making the smack of a snare drum sound like a thud) or subtract the fine detail that is the primary benefit of well-played vinyl. To achieve this goal we use special materials and techniques. The three mechanisms that make up a turntable are the platter that supports and spins the record; the tone arm, which allows the stylus to accurately track the record; and the cartridge, which transforms the vibrations in the record groove into the electrical signals that are sent to your preamplifier. The platter of the C 556 uses a special phenolic resin that is pressure cast to create the ideal properties of being both massive and inert. The mass creates a flywheel effect that eliminates small, and very unmusical, speed variations called wow and flutter. The mass also rejects unwanted external vibrations, and combined with the extreme hardness of the phenolic material, suppresses vibrations in the audible range. This massive platter requires a precision low friction bearing to allow smooth and stable revolving motion.A special bronze body with a stainless steel ball bearing provides a point-perfect contact with the hardened steel shaft of the platter assembly. This is the ideal design for minimal friction, and a complete elimination of any play or ‘wobble’. The bearing is firmly connected to the rigid and well-damped base that provides a rigid connection to the tone arm. A precision synchronous clock motor keeps the platter spinning at exactly 33 1/3 RPM and its own vibrations are carefully isolated from the platter by a synthetic rubber belt and from the base by rubber isolation mountings. The tone arm must have the lowest possible mass while still maintaining a rigid, vibration-free connection to the record. To achieve this contradictory goal, the C 556 uses a hand built arm featuring an alloy tube and precision bearings at the gimbal pivot. A simple counter weight balance is combined with a magnetic anti-skate bias control to make for a friction-free pivot that allows the cartridge to operate in an ideal environment.Easy to EnjoyBy delivering the turntable with the cartridge already correctly installed and aligned, we were thinking of the many new vinyl devotees who may be less familiar with the setup requirements of a transcription turntable. Setup and operation could not be simpler—the C 556 comes complete. Just set the tone arm counter weight to the indicated position, then plug ‘n play.Whether you are new to vinyl, simply want to upgrade the sound of your vinyl collection, or even want to transcribe your LPs to digital files for playback on your computer, the NAD C 556 is the perfect choice. It is fully capable of providing the ‘vinyl magic’ that has made the LP the most successful recorded medium of all time. With the C 556, NAD is offering the best performing turntable in its 40-year history.Specifications:pressure-cast phenolic resin platter with felt mat provides excellent speed stability and protects records from scratchesprecision bronze and stainless steel ball bearing for smooth, quiet platter rotationhand-built aluminum alloy tonearm with precision gimbal pivot bearingsincludes pre-mounted Ortofon OM-5E moving magnet cartridgemagnetic anti-skate bias controlthree anti-vibration feethigh-torque synchronous-clock motor decoupled from base for reduced vibration transmission and better soundmanual operation with tonearm lift33-1/3 and 45 rpm speedsfrequency range (with included cartridge): 20-20,000 Hz (±2dB)channel separation (with included cartridge): 22dB at 1kHzattached 41" RCA audio cableweight: 8.8 lbs.17-7/16"W x 4-1/2"H (with dust cover down) x 14-1/4"D

Instead, we have developed even better performing circuits based on switch mode power supplies and Class D output stages. Once thought to be inferior to traditional topologies, NAD’s advanced work in this area has created some of the best performing amplifiers regardless of basic design principle. These new designs are very linear over a wide bandwidth and provide consistent performance into all speaker loads, providing a dramatic advance over previous models. The power supply is capable of 150 watts continuously and over 250 watts instantaneously to allow for short-term musical transients. It can operate with any AC mains voltage from 100 to 240 volts and provides pure DC power to all the various stages of the C 388. This highly efficient supply also provides near perfect regulation of voltage across a wide range of conditions and provides a solid noise-free foundation for the amplifying stages. The C 388 uses a customized version of the proven Hypex UcD output stage operating in a fully balanced bridge configuration. This allows for massive power with nearly immeasurable distortion and noise in the audible range. Every detail of this design has been carefully planned and perfectly executed to wring out every last drop of performance.

Nad C-316BEE V2

Nad C-316BEE V2

Our scene-stealing C 315BEE, an award-winning design that exceeded all expectations, has given rise to the C 316BEE Integrated Amplifier. The C 316BEE promises improved power efficiency, a healthy dose of ‘green’ attributes, and serious musical performance. The C 316BEE offers entry-level affordability and for many there will never be a need for another amplifier. With class-leading specifications for noise, distortion, power, stereo separation and volume control tracking, the C 316BEE sets new benchmarks for performance, both measured and audible. The sonic result is a relaxed and inviting sound that digs out the subtle details in your favourite recordings and presents them across a panoramic stereo sound stage.Features:Proprietary PowerDrive Circuit offers a remarkable combination of high current drive needed for complex loudspeaker loads combined with high levels of undistorted dynamic power. Bjørn Erik Edvardsen, our Director of Advanced Development, developed a simplified version of PowerDrive for the C 316BEE.Thanks to its innovative technology, standby power consumption is less than 1 watt. The C 316BEE uses lead-free silver solder and is constructed free of hazardous materials.True to our enviable reputation for creating some of the best performing budget amplifiers of all time, the C 316BEE delivers huge performance without the huge price tag.Continuous power is a conservative 40 watts and dynamic power, which is more important for music listening, is remarkably more than 100 watts! Far more usable power on tap than other amps at this price point. The C 316BEE has everything necessary for musical enjoyment, yet it is refreshingly limited to the essentials: six inputs, one set of speakers, a headphone jack and full function remote control. While the C 316BEE embodies simplicity, it is far from a ‘stripped down’ product. It is fully equipped to be the control centre for a high performance music system.
