Focussed on the essentials, with meaningful featuresThe PD-30 AE, unlike most players in its class, is based on a pure, genuine CD drive. The specialisation of this silent drive for only one task positively impacts both the low operating noise and the sound of the player.Precise data readout is supported by a low-vibration steel sheet housing with aluminium front, a generously dimensioned power supply and an especially low-interference precision clock that cycles the drive and D/A converter with ±10ppm accuracy so that jitter interfering with the sound does not develop in the first place. Thanks to optical and coaxial digital outputs, the converter of the PD-30 AE can also be used by external players – even without using the connected amplifier thanks to the integrated, variable headphone jack. Synergy for ultimate convenience is realised when the PD-30 AE encounters its network player colleague, the N-30 AE. Then the streamer makes it possible to operate the CD player using the Pioneer Remote App by transferring its commands via remote cable.
The HiFi Rose RSA-780 CD Drive/Ripper is ideal for the music lover who wants to play CDs and/or rip them, and it is engineered to pair seamlessly with HiFi Rose streamers. RSA-780 can switch between two modes: one for pristine audio playback via a streamer, and one for reading or writing CDs.
Audiolab's new 8300CDQ features high-quality analog preamp circuitry, combined with three stereo pairs of line RCA inputs for connecting analog sources. The preamp circuit is kept as simple as possible using high quality components to maintain signal purity, while line input signals are passed through a precision analog gain stage. Great effort has gone into the physical layout of the 8300CDQ's circuitry, protecting the sensitive preamp section from noise interference. The Sound of ScienceAudiolab's 8300CDQ adds further flexibility by incorporating a direct-coupled headphone amplifier with current feedback circuits. Accessible via a front 6.35mm jack, it ensures a dynamic, detailed and exciting performance with all types of headphones. The key feature introduced in the 8300CDQ is MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) decoding. The brainchild of Meridian Audio co-founder Bob Stuart, MQA is a digital audio format designed for high-resolution music streaming and available via subscription to Tidal's 'HiFi' tier (among other sources). The 8300CDQ "unpacks" MQA data - received via the USB input - at full resolution of the original file and passes the signal through the DAC and preamplification stages, ready to feed a power amplifier or active speakers.Audiolab's MQA decoding system was developed by John Westlake, one of Britain's leading digital audio experts. There are several ways to play MQA on audio devices, and not all of them produce the same audio result. Westlake's solution maximizes the potential of the format, just as the 8300CDQ's design draws the best sound quality from other audio codecs and, of course, CD.It was 2010 when the original Westlake-designed Audiolab CD players - the 8200CD and 8200CDQ - were launched and became world-renowned for their excellent sound quality and ease of use.In 2015, the 8300 series arrived and both 8200 series producers were replaced by the 8300CD, continuing the formidable reputation of its predecessors.A lot of research went into creating the improved 8300CDQ, further developing Audiolab's classic range of CD players to reach even greater heights. In addition to the functions described above, the 8300CDQ is based on exemplary circuitry developed for the 8300CD, including:• Slot-loading CD transport mechanismFast in operation and thoughtfully designed, the 8300CDQ's CD-load transport offers exceptional reliability. A digital buffer reduces disc read errors, allowing playback of scratched CDs that cannot be read by conventional mechanisms. High disc stability and low tuning sensitivity contribute to the 8300CDQ's excellent CD sound quality.• High-resolution Digital InputsThe five digital inputs include 1x asynchronous USB and 4x S/PDIF (2x coaxial and 2x optical). High-resolution digital audio is supported up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD256, and USB HID compatibility allows control from a connected PC, Mac or media player without a driver (driverless control).• 32-bit ESS Saber DACCD transport and digital inputs feed the DAC section with an ESS Saber32 reference chip at its heart, using HyperStream architecture and ESS Technology's Time Domain Jitter Eliminator to deliver ultra-low noise and high dynamic range. No company knows more about getting the most out of this 32-bit, eight-channel hybrid multi-bit Delta-Sigma DAC than Audiolab. The 8200CD and 8200CDQ were among the first audio components to use it, and the company has improved its implementation ever since. The conversion process involves 512 DAC elements (256 per channel) each operating at 84.672MHz - all digital audio sources, regardless of sample rate, are reproduced or upscaled at this frequency.• Exemplary Jitter ReductionAround the DAC chip are extensive measures to reduce jitter (digital distortion) to extremely low levels. Careful circuitry and low-noise power supplies complement the patented Saber32 DAC and intelligent DPLL (Digital Phase Locked Loop) circuitry, radically reducing timing errors from all digital input sources.• Time Domain IsolationWhile the Saber32 sample rate converter virtually eliminates jitter in the digital domain, external interference in the "analog domain" caused by RFs, the PSU connection, and so on will affect the audio performance of the DAC. Audiolab solves this problem with the CATDA (Cascaded Asynchronous Time Domain Attenuator) circuit. To achieve the best possible performance, three identical stages are used - each individual stage provides increased isolation, thus maximizing timing performance, even at higher RF frequencies.• Selectable Digital FiltersAs digital audio reproduction technology has advanced, the importance of the characteristics of digital reconstruction filters has become more appreciated. The Audiolab 8300CDQ features seven user-selectable filters for PCM audio data (including CD) and four ultrasonic filters for DSD data. These settings allow the user to adjust the performance of the 8300CDQ according to the sound system, the quality of the digital file and personal taste.• Discrete Class A Analogue stages and Sophisticated Power SupplyThe 8300CDQ's analog outputs and power supply are extremely well built. The circuit includes a large low-noise toroidal transformer, a plethora of eservoir/smoothing capacitors, an impressive number of regulator chips, and discrete transistors (instead of op-amps) in the ultra-low-impedance analog output stages for driving any cable and load. The power supply incorporates 29 regulated supply rails.

NAD has an enviable reputation for creating great sounding products at very affordable prices and nowhere is this more evident than in NAD’s CD Players. NAD’s veteran engineers know exactly where to spend just a little extra money for a better quality part, in order to extract the very best sound from the Compact Disc. CD Players use mechanical, digital, and analog technology to produce sound, and all three forms of engineering greatly affect the end result and require careful design and engineering.A solid mechanical foundation is paramount in reducing external vibration and providing precise location of the CD drive mechanism. This allows smooth operation and a minimum of tracking errors. Heavy gauge steel and non-resonant plastic moldings are carefully engineered to provide optimum results. The transport is mounted on reinforced steel rails and over 30 fasteners are used to lock the assembly together and maintain precise dimensional integrity.Precise clocking of the digital data stream allows the Wolfson 24 bit DAC to provide accurate linearity for the PCM data conversion to analog waveform. Audio OP Amps buffer the output without adding noise or distortion to the music. Multi-layer PCBs using surface mount components allow for an enhanced circuit layout with very short signal paths. Powering these elements is a custom designed active power supply that provides multiple regulated voltages to the transport, digital circuits, analog circuits, and the control and display circuits. The result of this careful engineering is a sound that is at once both detailed and natural, with dramatic dynamic contrasts. The NAD C 538 includes many desirable features that enhance listening pleasure. Front panel controls are duplicated on the hand held remote allowing Play, Pause, Skip, and Scan functions. In addition, many more features are available from the remote handset, such as RANDOM: Tracks/files are played at random mode, PROGRAM: Enter or exit program mode, REPEAT: Track, file, folder or whole disc is repeated, RPT A-B: Playback sequence is repeated. The dimmable dot matrix display shows tracks, total playing time. Track time, disc time, and remaining time are all available. The C 538 also can play CD-R/CD-RW discs allowing you to burn songs from your computer for playback on your CD Playing system.Because these songs are encoded in MP3 or WMA format, you can fit up to 10 hours of music on a single disc which is great for party mixes and ambient listening. There are also both optical and coaxial digital outputs that allow connection to an external DAC or digital component (like an AVR) to provide the most efficient and best sounding system setups.Although music downloads and streaming continue to grow in popularity, CDs are still the primary listening source for millions of people around the world. NAD continues to innovate and improve its CD Players to get improved performance while keeping prices low. Whether you are creating your first home system, or upgrading your current CD Player, you should consider NAD’s 45 year record of excellence, and its commitment to music lovers everywhere, when selecting a new player.

The Obelisk DT is a dedicated compact disc audio transport, reading both conventional and HDCDs, and outputting flawless digital data to any high quality Digital-to-Analogue processor. We designed the DT to be one of the best optical disc players available. Its uncompromising technical approach makes it well suited for partnering with any D/A convertor. It must be strange to offer a standalone CD-transport in a market, where the digital-to-analogue converters advertised as the most important elements of a digital system. However, we think that the best data retrieval and transfer from a source disc is a very complex task and must be made with extra care to achieve a great sound. Like a phono cartridge and its preamp stage, the disc readout and the DAC have two entirely different role, and they must be separated to achieve the best results. As we have a DAC upgrade card system for our amplifiers, we have designed the Obelisk DT to be a no-compromise transport for the 12 cm discs.Of course, we strongly suggest a serious audition to hear what this exceptional transport is capable of. If you are a discerning music lover on the lookout for a truly musical player, even by the highest analogue standards, the Obelisk DT may well be your ultimate CD-playing device.

The culmination of more than three decades of Rotel CD technology refinement, the RCD-1572 is the flagship CD player in Rotel‘s 15 Series. Since 1982, when the CD was introduced, Rotel has been refining technology and evolving circuitry to bring you extraordinary sound from the familiar silver disc. As most music lovers have a substantial collection of compact discs, a high quality CD player is still an important part of most music systems. The RCD-1572, the outstanding CD player in Rotel‘s 15 series, focuses careful refinements to reveal even the most subtle nuances buried in a CD’s pit spiral. The RCD-1572 elevates performance by utilizing a purpose designed and built CD mechanism along with other circuit refinements. One of the RCD-1572’s most important features is the Wolfson WM8740 digital filter/stereo digital-to-analog converter. Originally developed for high resolution sources, it is the product of extensive research and real world testing and processes digital signals up to 24-bits in length at sampling rates from 8 kHz to 192 kHz. While word lengths and sampling speed may seem excessive for CDs delivering data at far lower rates, this high speed facility adds reserve capability to ensure proper reproduction under all circumstances. As the most crucial link between a CD’s digital data and the analog world in which we listen, this converter boasts significant attributes in addition to its superb high resolution capabilities. The post-converter analog circuitry benefits from Rotel‘s decades-long experiences in crafting the finest sounding pathway from the DAC’s internal output to RCA and XLR rear panel connectors that bridge the gap between the RCD-1572 and down-stream components. All circuit components – resistors, capacitors, inductors – are chosen only after their positive contribution to sound quality were quantified and verified qualitatively by extensive listening sessions. All of these circuits draw on a power supply based on an oversized custom Rotel-designed and precision-manufactured toroidal power transformer that, in turn, feeds precise rectifiers, tight-tolerance voltage regulators, and advanced Slit-Foil low-ESR storage capacitors, all globally sourced to ensure musically accurate operation under even the most demanding conditions. This is all part of Rotel’s long-proven Balanced Design Concept. It’s yet another way of assuring you that the RCD-1572 evidences a level of attention that will make it part of your reference-level music system for years to come.

Grand Class, High-quality Sound Design The New SL-G700 Network / Super Audio CD Player. The SL-G700 is a multi-digital player that covers most of the digital audio media available today, from traditional CD/SACD to the latest high-res and many streaming services, and plays them all back in the highest possible quality. Premium High-grade D/A Converter and Dual Mono Construction D/A Circuit For analogue audio output, the D/A circuit is one of the most important circuit blocks since it recreates the original analogue waveform from a digital source, such as a CD. For the D/A converters, Asahi Kasei Micro devices’ top-of-the-line DAC AK4497, with their high S/N ratio and low distortion, are isolated for the left and right channels. The power supply for the D/A converters is separated into five sections according to the application, and supplied individually. The power supply for the clock employs an original Battery Driven Circuit System to achieve high-accuracy D/A conversion. The Dual Mono Construction and asymmetrical layout eliminate mutual interference between left and right channels, taking the reproduction of sound imaging and sound space recorded in the source to a higher dimension. Discrete AMP Module For analogue audio output, the filter circuit located after the D/A conversion determines the quality of sound. The SL-G700’s filter circuit incorporates not an Opamp IC but an amp module of original discrete construction. The use of low-noise transistors and thin-film resistors suppresses the noise generated inside the circuits. Detailed fine tuning, such as the increase of operating current, has improved the response, S/N ratio and distortion rate. As result, the SL-G700 provides highly linear and faithful sound reproduction without omitting even the smallest nuances recorded in the source. High-speed Silent Hybrid Power Supply The quality of power supply is extremely important for high-fidelity sound reproduction. Power supply noise and supply stability directly affect the quality of sound reproduced from audio signals, particularly for analogue audio output. The SL-G700 is equipped with a dedicated power supply unit for analogue audio output. Its non-feedback switching power supply suppresses switching frequency fluctuation. Combined with the original stabilised power supply circuit, this dedicated power supply unit provides stable power with low noise. The discrete circuit structure does not use any general-purpose ICs, and meticulous tuning provides power optimised for analogue circuits, thus realising a high S/N ratio and superb reproduction, the hallmark of Technics sound. Four-Section Configuration In Digital Audio Player, there are a variety of circuits, such as Switching Power Supply which has big energy and the Digital Interface Circuit which handling high frequency signal, and also analogue circuit. The SL-G700 uses a Four-Section construction with partitions installed between the circuit blocks according to the signal level handled and circuit type. This eliminates interference between circuit blocks, thus achieving clear sound quality. Also, the chassis rigidity due to this construction suppresses the vibration of electrical parts, thereby suppressing deterioration in sound quality. High-Rigidity Drive Mechanism In the playback of a disc, the reading accuracy determines the sound quality. The CD drive mechanism features a triple chassis structure to ensure accurate reading and to prevent the vibration from transmitting to the outside of the mechanism. Moreover, the SL-G700 has a stable, aluminium die-cast disc tray with a high-vibration-damping, quiet structure to ensure high-accuracy disc playback. Supports a Wide Variety of Music Sources and High Connectivity The SL-G700 supports Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi, and AirPlay 2 with its high wireless connectivity. It is also compatible with streaming services, such as Spotify, TIDAL, and Internet Radio, and functions such as the Google Assistant.* * A Google Voice-activated Speaker must be included in the same network. Compatible music streaming services will be supported sequentially through firmware updates. Network content services are operated by their respective service providers, and service may be discontinued either temporarily or permanently without notice. Designed to Deliver Enjoyable Sound Quality Inheriting many of the sound quality features of the high end CD player components, the CD-S303 CD player delivers sound that will satisfy devoted music fans. In addition to CDs, it also provides high-quality play of music files stored on USB memory devices via a USB port on the front panel. Pure Direct The CD-S303 offers Pure Direct, which is the same popular feature included in Yamaha amplifiers and receivers. By pressing the button on the front panel or on the remote control, it shuts down the digital audio output and turns off the display. This achieves the lowest possible noise interference and, therefore, the highest sound quality of the analog audio output. Extremely Sophisticated Circuitry and Layout Yamaha technicians devoted a great deal of time and effort to designing the overall interior layout of parts and circuit boards, a factor that significantly affects sound quality. As a result, the power supplies for the motor drive, display and USB sections, as well as the digital, and analog sections are individually isolated, eliminating electromagnetic interference among them. To achieve ideal weight balance for stable performance, the drive mechanism is located in the center of the unit. Short Signal Paths The highly logical and symmetrical internal layout of parts and circuit boards are designed to keep the signal paths on each board as short as possible. This purposeful design also keeps the paths between sections straight and short, minimizing the chance of signal loss or interference, something not easy to achieve. Well-Matched, High-Quality Parts Each of the individual elements in a CD player influences the sound quality, which is why Yamaha puts a great deal of effort into the selection and matching of parts and materials. A high-grade acoustic capacitor, a new low-noise, high-gain bandwidth op amp and the use of damping material under the transformer and around the signal cables are just a few examples of the Yamaha commitment to great sound quality. In short, the CD-S303's internal sophistication is on a level generally found on much more expensive models. High-Performance D/A Converter Utilizing a 192 kHz/24-bit DAC, the high-performance D/A conversion system takes full advantage of the digital technology refined by Yamaha over a period of many years, ensuring excellent conversion precision, S/N ratio and dynamic range. Laser Pickup Floating Mechanism The laser pickup is isolated on a floating mechanism so its delicate operation cannot be affected by vibration. Intelligent Digital Servo Conventional tracking servo circuitry cannot completely overcome errors caused by a warped disc, dust and other defects. This system uses a dependable DSP (Digital Signal Processor), exclusive for CDs, to monitor the signal, adjusting pickup tracking and focus, as well as spindle motor speed, to compensate for any problems. Enjoy Your MP3, WMA, LPCM, AAC and FLAC Music The USB port on the front panel gives you an easy way to enjoy high-quality sound from MP3, WMA, LPCM, AAC or FLAC digital music files stored on USB memory devices. You can also play files recorded on CD-R/RW discs. 3-Mode CD Text Display Information about the currently playing CD is shown right on the CD player’s display. The 3-mode CD Text display shows the CD’s title, the artist’s name and the title of the track. Program Play (Audio CDs Only) It’s extremely easy to program the tracks you want to hear in any order. You can clear the program at any time with a single touch.
The X-Cd5, new CD player combines a superb presentation to a perfect technical accuracy. The X-Cd5 is composed of a metal frame that reduces the risk of interference between the different components of your Hi-Fi system. The metal mechanical component is suspended in order to avoid the development of vibrations during playback. Nothing has been left to chance, all resistors and capacitors are "audiophiles"components.
