Klipsch RP-500C II
The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II center speaker is the entry ticket to the American manufacturer's Reference Premiere 2022 center speaker range. Replacing the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C , the Klipsch RP-500C II incorporates two new Cerametallic speakers to bring the admissible power to 100 W RMS (up to 400 W peak) and ensure a more precise reproduction. The box is reinforced and displays more fluid lines as well as a finish that stands out from the previous generation by its Premium appearance.
Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II: Cerametallic speakers
The Reference Premiere line has been the core of Klipsch's offering for years. The compact, column, center, surround or Atmos speakers that make it up benefit from sophisticated, high-performance technologies. For this 2022 edition, the manufacturer is renewing its most emblematic range with numerous optimizations to produce an ever more faithful and powerful sound. With the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II center speaker, this capacity takes shape thanks to two new 13.3 cm diameter mid/bass drivers. The latter use a Cerametallic membrane combined with a thin layer of sputtered copper. This design provides an ultra-rigid and low distortion conducive diaphragm. Thanks to a new spool with a 70% larger diameter, power handling is maximized, while maximizing control of the membrane, for a more linear and faithful reproduction. The new structure of the magnetic crew improves bass reproduction, while the new aluminum rings reduce distortion. This results in clearer and more natural dialogues.
The optimization of the Cerametallic loudspeakers brings better power handling, reduced distortion and more detailed listening.
Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II: Tractrix pavilion
For decades, the acoustic horns that equip Klipsch loudspeakers have been one of its most emblematic distinctive signs. The American manufacturer has used this technique since the invention of the loudspeaker, at a time when amplifiers only produced a handful of watts. This new generation of Klipsch RP-500C II speakers places its tweeter at the heart of a Tractrix horn. This one benefits from a new design Larger edge-to-edge to significantly improve the propagation of midrange and treble frequencies to the listener. The Tractix horn also increases the efficiency of the tweeter in the midrange, thus requiring less power from the amp. In addition, the 25 mm diameter titanium dome tweeter is mounted on an LTS suspension to ensure excellent damping of body vibrations. Finally, a waveguide ensures better phasing, for optimal perception of the dialogues by all the listeners present in the room.
The new Tractrix horn offers better perception of high frequencies and a more precise soundstage.
Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II: bass reflex
The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II center speaker is made from a thick MDF frame. It has several reinforcements to suppress unwanted vibrations and resonances. The cabinet is bass-reflex loaded with Tractrix vents to ensure smoother airflow and limit turbulence. Less turbulent air helps reduce vent noise for cleaner, more powerful bass
The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II speaker is loaded with bass-reflex to maximize bass response.
Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II: high sensitivity
The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II speaker has an admissible power of 100 watts RMS (400 watts peak) for a frequency response that extends from 56 Hz to 25 kHz and a sensitivity of 94 dB. This high efficiency makes it possible to combine the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II speaker with low power amplifiers, as well as with medium to high power home cinema amplifiers.
Thanks to its high sensitivity, the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II speaker can easily be combined with any amplifier.
The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II center speaker optimizes one of the American manufacturer's most popular center speakers by providing ever better controlled dialogue reproduction, as well as better power handling.
