The Audio Technica AT4050SC is a multi-pattern condenser studio microphone. It has dual 2-micron-thick large diaphragms which are gold-vaporized and aged for consistent, outstanding performance and a precision-machined, nickel-plated brass acoustic element baffle provides rock-solid element stability and exceptional sensitivity. It is able to withstand high sound pressure levels whilst delivering transparent and airy uppers/mids complemented by rich low-end qualities. Features include three switchable polar patterns (omnidirectional, cardioid and figure of eight), a switchable 80Hz hi-pass filter and 10dB pad, transformerless circuitry which virtually eliminates low-frequency distortion and provides superior correlation of high-speed transients, and a custom shock mount providing superior mechanical isolation. It has a black finish and comes supplied with a AT8430 isolation stand clamp.
