The LX2-LPS is Musical Fidelity's new baby. A high quality flexible MM/MC phono stage with adjustable impedance and excellent technical performance. Housed in beautifully detailed and handsome metalwork it is the epitome of understated high class elegance. We designed it for reference level listening so it is unerringly accurate and faithful to the input. Its purpose in life is to give you your music as its artists and producers intended: nothing more, and nothing less. The critical elements of a phono stage are: accurate RIAA, low noise, low distortion, and overload margin. Technical PerformanceMusical Fidelity's RIAA correction is famous for its predictable and consistent accuracy. The LX2-LPS accuracy is ±0.25dB 20Hz-20kHZ, also it extends to 45kHz so there is no overshoot ringing. This results in absolutely clear high frequencies with no intermodulation or other distracting anomalies. The noise ratio on both MM (better than 82dB) and MC (better than 72dB) is outstanding and virtually inaudible at any volume setting. That is unless you are a half deaf head-banger.But then I don't expect that MF's refinement and subtly would be quite your thing! The LX LPS distortion is vanishingly low, typically less than 0.007% across the audio band.Overload margin is exemplary. Simply put, it is virtually impossible for any real world cartridge to overload it.As we all know nothing is perfect, but the LX2-LPS gets very near. New product release - mk4 versionThe P75 is a complete Phono solution in one compact unit. It is user adjustable and will handle virtually any type of cartridge on the market. The performance is noteworthy, with extreme RIAA accuracy, very low noise and outstanding dynamic range. The P75 incorporates a unique feature called "Phono Enhancer" (PE) which extracts the current signal, improve the magnetic field in the cartridge itself, which in turn provides an even more musical performance. The P75 mk4 introduces a new ultra-low noise power supply that is electrically isolated from the input power. It takes the low grade single voltage DC supply from the AC adapter and converts it to dual high voltages required for true professional quality audio reproduction. Power supply noise is virtually unmeasurable. The P75 does not have any mains frequency or other low frequency components in the power supply and so hum problems that plague conventional phono amplifiers are eliminated.

Vinyl replay makes a huge contribution to the enjoyment of recorded music. At its best, vinyl has a uniquely engaging and musical quality, and with the SuperLine phonostage, the best of vinyl just gets better. The SuperLine is a high performance moving-coil phono stage built in the Naim Audio aluminium reference enclosure with an anodised front panel. It brings all Naim Audio's latest analogue electronic design and environmental isolation techniques to bear on the most delicate analogue element of any hi-fi system - the moving-coil phono signal. The SuperLine requires an external power supply - either the power supply output of an appropriate Naim Audio preamplifier or the SUPERNAIT and NAIT XS integrated amplifiers, or, for optimum performance, a dedicated FlatCap XS, HiCap or SuperCap. SuperLine brings out all that's best in vinyl replay - timing, pitch accuracy, clarity, detail, and the unmistakable naturalness that records can deliver in abundance. Features: RCA and BNC inputs Moving coil only, with cartridge impedance matching adjustment (20 different load combinations possible) Suspension system for delicate electronics as used in 500 Series 24V supply voltage from NaimUniti 2, NAIT XS 2, SUPERNAIT 2, Naim Audio preamplifier (except NAC-N 172 XS), FlatCap XS, HiCap or SuperCap required Bead-blasted, black anodised front panel Technology & Craft The heart of the SuperLine is a new, two-stage single-ended Class A discrete amplifier with part-passive RIAA filtering that runs off 25 internally regulated power supplies and features the transistor "quiet room" thermal isolation technique originally developed for the NAP 500 power amplifier. Environmental isolation is also ensured by the SuperLine's massive sub-chassis and high-Q spring suspension system - used here for the first time on a phono amplifier. Duplicate phono and BNC sockets provide input versatility, and cartridge impedance matching adjustment is provided by four resistive and three capacitive load plugs. In combination with the SuperLine's internal input load, twenty different standard load combinations are possible The SuperLine is also available in a lower gain model, SuperLine E. The SuperLine E is identical to the standard SuperLine except that is has been designed for use with cartridges that have a higher output voltage than most popular moving coils: for example high output moving coils. The reference Aura MC stage is the culmination of decades of electronic design development. We have created the ultimate, fully adjustable, three-stage, all symmetrical pre-amplifier designed purely to extract the very best performance from your moving coil cartridge and vinyl playback system. Design Innovation Built into a completely re-designed custom case, the Aura is dedicated to moving coil cartridges and stays clear of any compromises. We have avoided including any superfluous functions as they obstruct the signal path and degrade the sound quality. The Aura phono pre-amp incorporates remarkable and innovative design ideas. If you are a vinyl connoisseur, then the Aura MC is an absolute must for demonstration. First Stage The first stage is a symmetrical, complementary class A amplifier, using parallel connected Linear Systems ultra-low noise FET (Field Effect Transistor) transistors configured as a symmetrical compound pair input stage. The use of FET transistors ensures there is no bias current flowing in the cartridge coil so as not to upset the delicate magnetic geometry of the cartridge. The input circuit configuration also alleviates the use of any coupling components between the cartridge output and the input stage FET transistors, which would degrade the sound. The complementary ultra-low noise FET transistors are carefully graded and matched for optimum performance. This stage drives the passive high-frequency part of the RIAA equalisation stage. Second Stage The second stage is a symmetrical, class A, differential amplifier with a common base driver stage; this is also used as the active amplifier in the low-frequency part of the RIAA equalisation stage. Third Stage The third stage inverts the signal to provide the balanced output along with the output of the second stage; the third stage uses the same circuit topology as used in the second stage. The power supply is a symmetrical, discrete tracking power supply using fast diodes and a low noise voltage reference. Each stage has its own localised power supply and LED referenced current generators. To maximise headroom, the Aura has a power supply voltage, which is 60% higher than normally found in such a pre-amplifier. Very high quality, polypropylene capacitors have been used in the signal path. 1% tolerance polypropylene capacitors are used in the RIAA EQ stages and audio grade capacitors are used in the rest of the circuit. Gain, Mute and Mono switching is implemented using high-quality relays.
ARIA MK3 MM/MC Housed within our latest half width custom designed case to give it a fresh new look and match the range are two entirely separate, high performance phono stages. One fully adjustable, dedicated moving coil and one moving magnet. Each stage is designed and engineered to maximise the potential of your vinyl system whilst remaining easy to use and set up. The Aria is an “all analogue amplifier” with no digital control circuitry. The fully aluminium case screens the internal circuit from any stray RFI signals. Our designers have avoided including any superfluous gadgets as they obstruct the signal path and degrade the sound quality. The Aria incorporates many innovative design ideas including a self-adjusting servo control to keep the MC input circuit at its optimum, compensating for any variations in ambient or operating temperature. Both stages have their own separate input sockets and input pre-amplifier circuitry. This enabled us to design bespoke input circuitry for each cartridge type without compromise. Signal switching is performed at high level and low impedance (via relays) ensuring there is no degradation of the signal. Key Features High performance switchable MC & MM stage Fully adjustable MC stage MC input uses parallel connected low noise FET's MM input uses low noise bipolar transistors Custom designed case All analogue amplifier Bespoke input circuitry for MM & MC Lifetime warranty against manufacture defects MM Stage design & features The MM input uses low noise, bipolar input transistors also configured as a compound pair. There are two separate power supplies for each channel and further sub-power supplies for each of the low noise input circuits. Nichicon FG electrolytic capacitors have been used in critical positions throughout the power supplies. Polypropylene capacitors have been used in the signal path and equalization networks. Discrete circuitry is used throughout the signal path ensuring full control of the circuit design. MC Stage Design & Features The MC input uses parallel connected, low noise FETs (Field Effect Transistors) configured as a compound pair. The use of FET transistors ensures there is no bias current flowing in the cartridge coil so as not to upset the delicate magnetic geometry of the cartridge. The MC input has the provision for selecting resistive input loading of 70 Ω to 400 Ω and capacitive loading of 1000 pF to 4200 pF. The input sensitivity can be changed by 6 dB via the back panel.
The M3x ViNYL is a phono stage, designed to be without any practical limits. Connectivity is straight forward. You have an input and an output. Neither of them can be overloaded at the input or limited in the output driving capacity. It can be set for either MM or MC and exact loading. It offers state-of-the art technical and sonic performance just like the M6x ViNYL, but at a cheaper entry level to the epitome of the true spirit of high-end audio. Design Philosophy The M3x ViNYL has been switched, just like in its bigger brother the M6x ViNYL, to an entirely discrete circuitry, which results in better technical measurements and better sound. It is equipped with one single-ended input and output. But the important question is: what is so special about discrete circuits? Although it is Musical Fidelity’s lowest price amplifier, it embodies our hallmark values of uncoloured, stress-free sound, outstanding technical performance and great value for money. The Advantage of Discrete Circuits A discrete circuit is composed of electronic components which are disparate, individual devices, also called discrete components. These can be “passive” components, like resistors, capacitors and inductors, as well as “active” components, which in our case are transistors. The opposite to this would be an integrated circuit, which uses operational amplifiers (Op-Amps) in the signal chain. In our industry we employ specialised Op-Amps built for audio applications, which allow us to produce very small and efficient electronics, as well as saving the time of design engineers. However, countless hours of listening tests and years of experience have shown us that even the very best Op-Amps do not tend to be so neutral, natural, dynamic or vivid – all of which are characteristics of the Musical Fidelity “sound”. For that reason, we’re rediscovering our passion for traditional, discrete designs. Where standard phono pre-amplifiers with integrated circuits have a few tens or hundreds of components, discrete designs will employ hundreds or thousands of components by comparison. That makes for an extended design process, but in our opinion results in the best sound for your money. Toroidal Power Transformer The special audio transformer with low core saturation decreases the level of electromagnetic radiation, which is essential because otherwise any phono amplifier will never be able to work correctly. Together with the distance between transformer and amplification section and the electromagnetic shielding, we are creating an incredibly high signal to noise ratio. If we are working with the few hundreds of microvolts from a phono cartridge, everything is playing its role; every decibel of signal to noise ratio is crucially important. For the first time, we have implemented our new proprietary power supply solution that has zero standby power consumption. Absolutely zero! It is a super green product and we are sure, there isn’t any other product in existence with an ecological standby function like this. Split Passive EQ Many other phono stages are using a single equalization network in a global feedback loop. By means of an EQ network, the amplified signal from the output of the phono preamp is brought back to the input of the phono preamp. This is the before mentioned feedback loop, and the results, as you can imagine, are not in accordance with the high standards in Musical Fidelity design philosophy. The M3x ViNYL uses split passive equalization in separate amplification stages without global negative feedback loops for its RIAA curve. This is more costly to design and implement but ensures the most accurate representation of the ideal EQ curve. Split passive equalization allows for better impedance matching and lower deviation from the ideal RIAA curve. High-Tech Mechanical and Electrical Engineering - Hand Made in the EU M3x ViNYL has a steel chassis and a thick, heavy aluminium frontplate, which brings outstanding rigidity to the entire system and at the same time splendid isolation against outside interference. Key factor in keeping signal to noise ratios on the highest possible leveld is the huge distance between power transformer and amplifier section. The quality of the outside chassis finish, which is beyond beautiful, as well as the electronics inside - all wired by hand - is maintained by the highest manufacturing standards which we now achieve by fully switching the production to be entirely Made in the EU! This signal needs amplifying up to several hundred times the original size before it is loud enough for your amplifier. A phono stage increases the signal level from millivolts to volts. When vinyl was the standard for audio recording, the phono stage was built-in to receivers and amps, allowing direct connection of a turntable. These days most receivers and amps do not contain a phono stage so a separate unit is needed. It is a necessity for any turntable without a phono stage already built in. It will also upgrade a basic built-in phono stage in a turntable or amplifier system.Purer stillListening to music on vinyl is good for the soul. It sounds purer than listening to a track via your phone or computer.Make this experience purer still by reducing hiss, noise and rumble on your records with the ZEN Air Phono.MC and MMThere are two kinds of turntable cartridge – Moving Magnet and Moving Coil – and the ZEN Air Phono works with both of them. The MM setting is for cartridges with an output voltage of 2mV and higher. The MC setting for outputs less than 2mV.You use the gain switch on the rear to change this setting. It also has a precise RIAA equalisation setting to satisfy the most demanding vinyl lover.Engage warp driveAs we all know, records can become warped with age. With the ZEN Air Phono any warp on your records will be driven away by our ‘subsonic filter’.Normal subsonic filters remove ‘rumble’ AND bass and cause phase issues. Our unique AI phono sub-sonic filter removes ‘rumble’ only.

RIAA Phono Preamplifier This phono preamplifier for Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) pickup systems is based on the legendary Douglas-Self-Design. MM & MC There are two pickup systems for record players: Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC). Moving Magnet Moving magnet pickups generate a small voltage by moving a magnet between copper coils. MM pickups have a very high inductance and impedance. The Phonos offers a choice of three capacitors to correct the linearity of the frequency and phase response. The capacitances are 150pF, 220pF and 330pF. In the off-position the capacitance is determined by the capacitance of the cable. Moving Coil The MC pickup is also a small electromagnetic generator, but with the magnets firmly anchored and the coils moving between them, i.e. exactly the opposite of the MM pickup. The output voltage, however, is very low at only a few hundred microvolts and is therefore more sensitive to noise and induced hum. This makes preamplifier design a challenge, because the very low output voltage must be pre-amplified extremely noise-free. Phonos offers one of the most powerful phono preamplifiers for MC systems with up to 71.5 dB preamplification. Thanks to the 120V technology, the preamplifiers are extremely low-noise, linear and phase-locked. MC pickups have a very low inductance and impedance. This means that the effects of cable capacitance (from turntable to preamplifier) are negligible. The impedance, however, is relevant and can be set in six positions: 100, 220, 470, 2.2 k, 4.7 k, and 10 kOhm. If there is any doubt as to which impedance matches that of the pickup, the impedances can also simply be switched through until the linear frequency response is acoustically determined. Amplification The pre-amplification can be switched in three values. The normal gain value is +46 dB for MM and +67 dB for MC cartridges. In the -10 dB position, the phono produces enough output level for normal hi-fi equipment operating at a reference level of -10 dBV. In the +4 dB position, the output level is about as loud as that of modern DA converters at a reference level of 0dBfs = +15 dBu. Subsonic Filter The rumbling of the turntable’s drive mechanism is also amplified by the high amplification of the bass range due to RIAA equalization in playback. The Phonos offers a switchable subsonic filter to remove this rumble. Connections Gold-plated RCA sockets are available for connecting the turntable and for outputting to a preamplifier such as the Director Mk2 or the Elector. A ground connection for the turntable is designed as banana plug socket. The ground lead can be either clamped or plugged in. RIAA Equalization RIAA equalization is a specification for the recording and playback of records proposed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The RIAA equalization curves introduced a global de facto industry standard for vinyl records in 1954. RIAA equalization uses pre-emphasis to reduce low frequencies and boost high frequencies when the record is cut (blue RIAA curve). The bass is reduced by up to 20 dB to provide more space and longer record play time. The high frequencies are boosted by up to 25 dB to increase the signal-to-noise ratio between the noise and the hot of the record media to the audio signal. During playback, exactly the opposite happens in the phono. The de-emphasis filter (red RIAA curve) compensates for the pre-emphasis and the result is a linear frequency response. Douglas Self Design The RIAA equalization of the phono was developed according to the recommendations of Douglas Self. Idea: Many small capacities instead of a few large capacities. Advantages: The capacitors charge and discharge faster, which results in better resolution and faster impulse response. Only audiophile Styroflex capacitors are used in the entire RIAA equalizer. The Duo seems to exude an air of accomplishment. It’s a solid, lightweight piece of tech that just looks plain good... A rich and rewarding listening experience I just can’t tear myself away from... Few other options out there can match this kind of listening experience, which to put it mildly, is pretty amazing. Whether you’re dusting off your record collection or embracing analogue through the vinyl revival, there’s a unique experience to be had from the moment you drop the needle on your favourite album. To preserve the unique warmth of the vinyl sound, the Duo phono preamplifier has been carefully designed with a state-of-the-art switch mode power supply and a new surface mounted circuit board layout to reduce unwanted noise. Due to the low-level signals created by a turntable, not all hi-fi amplifiers will let you connect directly to a record player. The phono preamplifier boosts this signal to something a power amplifier can work with. The challenge at this stage though is that noise can easily be added. This is why we’ve designed the Duo around exceptional components that deliver the warm and detailed sound that’s synonymous with vinyl, all without distorting the signal from your moving magnet cartridge turntable. The switch mode power supply improves performance by switching outside of audible frequency to drastically reduce hum and new circuit board layout uses surface-mount components to reduce noise. Enjoy the warmth of vinyl privately thanks to Duo’s integrated headphone output. Uniquely, we integrated a 6.35mm headphone jack directly into the phono stage, so you can still enjoy your records when there’s no option to play out loud. The integrated headphone output also means no need to turn on your amplifier just to power your headphones, resulting in a more eco-friendly listening experience. If some records in your collection are a little worse for wear, the subsonic filter will help to eliminate low frequency rumbles that can be caused by imperfections within your vinyl. Combine this with the balance control for handling potential cartridge imbalances in your record player (that can cause a difference between the left and right channels) and the result is a detailed experience with accurate soundstage. The Duo phono preamplifier is green at heart with less than half a watt standby power consumption and auto power down feature if the unit isn’t used after a 20 minute period. This in turn gives the unit the same worldwide voltage for compatibility wherever you are in the world. Based on 30 years of amplifier-building expertise, Huei offers MM/MC compatibility and integrates turntables to our amplifiers. Entirely conceived, engineered and manufactured in Great Britain, Huei has been carefully designed to provide turntables with the same high standards of amplification that Chord Electronics has become known for over the past 30 years. Benefitting from both Moving Magnet and Moving Coil functionality, Huei offers compatibility with a huge range of cartridges thanks to comprehensive gain and impedance-matching options; Huei’s high- and low-gain switching settings are easily accessible via front-panel controls, introducing welcome flexibility. Huei’s advanced design offers (for the first time in a Chord Electronics phono preamp) ultra-low-noise microprocessor control of its main features, including a convenient memory function. With multiple options for impedance-matching, seven-stage switchable gain and a switchable rumble filter, Huei’s design offers comprehensive compatibility. Precision-machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminium billet, Huei has a similar form factor to the company’s Qutest DAC and also offers a top-mounted viewing window into the illuminated electronics within. The design also shares the same polychromatic control spheres the company has become known for in its digital products. The illuminated front-panel spheres offer direct access to Huei’s gain and impedance settings, selection for MM/MC cartridges and access to the on-board rumble filter. Huei is a stylish, practical and high-performance solution for integrating turntables into Chord Electronics’ (and other) systems and features both unbalanced (RCA) and balanced outputs (XLR) with RCA inputs. The Nash is a dedicated preamplifier and phono equalizer for every cartridge model. It is provided with two phono inputs, one for low-level MC cartridges and one for medium-high level MC cartridges and MM cartridges. Its FET-input, all-discrete components circuits feature vanishingly low noise and plenty of gain, allowing for a stunning 2.5Vrms output with 5mV on MM and 170uV on MC. The passive RIAA is implemented with high precision polypropylene capacitors. MC interface paramenters (input impedance and MC pre-pre gain) are set by potentiometer from the rear panel. As well, MM interface parameters (input impedance and capacity load) are set by DIP-switches, again from the rear panel. The Nash is provided with a Bluetooth BLE interface for control and configuration. An Android (and soon iOS) app will allow user to fully control the unit and set the configuration parameters. A comprehensive, continuously updated pickups database will make configuration faster and easier. You control the Nash by the front panel encoder, using the remote control or by the dedicated Android app via Bluetooth. Operation data are displayed on a high readability OLED display. A menu allows for setting parameters like: anti-rumble filter, MM input stage gain, etc. Two auxiliary line-level inputs make the Nash a hub or switching box for analog sources, an interesting add-on when the Nash is used together with the Young MkIII, to fully exploit the latter’s only analog input. A Young MkIII-Nash-based system may have a total of four analog sources: two phono and two line-level. The Nash noise and sound performance can be further increased by replacing the stock wall adaptor with the Van Der Graaf MkII Low Noise Power Supply. Our award-winning Phono Signature phono stage is lauded as one of the best at any price.Designed and Manufactured in the United Kingdom.A phono stage is one of the most critically sensitive products in hi-fi. Because the signals produced by the needle are so small, they need to be amplified many thousands of times. Consequently, the signal path has to be perfectly clear of inductive fields, each individual component has to be best in class and of the utmost quality. The rewards though, for getting it right, are legion. Phono Signature has been designed to allow up to four turntables to be permanently connected because many vinyl enthusiasts enjoy multiple turntables, arms or cartridges for different records. It is also possible to calibrate each input separately from the comfort of your armchair. Each of the four inputs can be accurately matched to the exact specification of the cartridge and the acoustic preference of the user. Adjustment is provided for MC cartridges in; gain, resistance and capacitance. In addition, a switchable warp filter is provided to maximise amplifier performance.
